INSURANCE HOLD UP SIDELINES DENG

LUOL Deng has been sidelined on the opening day of Great Britain's training camp because of an insurance hold-up.

The Chicago Bulls superstar signed a new $80 million (£40m) contract with the NBA side last week and reported to national team training in London on Wednesday.

But GB officials are still waiting for the paperwork to be completed on a hefty insurance policy.

And that means Deng is not allowed to even train with the squad as they prepare for next month's European Championship qualifiers, a delay that could take over a week.

Coach Chris Finch said: "It is frustrating but the process is out of our hands. The important thing is Luol will be available for the games in September."
