DENG HAS GB MRI SCAN
08/19/2008

LUOL Deng has undergone an MRI scan as Great Britain officials step up their attempts to insure his back.

The Chicago Bulls forward learned last week that he has been refused insurance to play in next month's (sep) European Championship qualifiers because of an old back injury.

GB are appealing that decision and also looking into taking out their own insurance policy and Deng underwent a scan in London on Sunday.

The GB ace, who recently signed a £37.8 million six-year deal with the Bulls, has flown back to Chicago while he awaits a decision.

GB officials have claimed they are confident of resolving the problem as the team aim to reach the 2009 European Finals.
