SMITH TO MISS BBL FINALS WEEKEND?

Andre Smith, the Everton Tiger's player of the season, and one of the most charismatic stars in this season's British Basketball League, has had to return to the US because of a family illness so may miss the final weekend of the BBL season.

Gary Townsend, Tigers chairman, said it was not yet known whether the player would be able to return in time for the weekend's play-off fixtures, but that the thoughts of the team were with Andre and his family.
