BRYAN-AMANING'S HUSKIES WIN PAC-10
03/14/2010
Matthew Bryan-Amaning's Washington Huskies won the PAC-10 Championship last night - beating California 79-75, and qualifying for the 2010 NCAA Tournament.
The Londoner had 9 points and 5 rebounds.
The Huskies go into the Big Dance on a roll now, having won 12 of their last 14 games. It marks a huge turnaround in their fortunes - the team was written off earlier in the season after a string of poor performances.
"You can't allow public opinion to affect how you work," UW Coach Lorenzo Romar said last night.
"With criticism, it motivates guys to play even better. Fingers can begin to get pointed, but our guys didn't do that. We have great character, and with great character, you can overcome adversity."
In the game before last night's, Matthew had 9 points and 11 boards...but stole the show when he did THIS to Stanford's big man, Andrew Zimmerman:
